Helping Kids Grow in Confidence Through Creativity and Connection

Hi, I’m Ms. Saylor!

As a teacher with a Master’s in Art Education and a background in psychology, I’ve spent years helping children in special education and ABA settings build confidence, communicate more clearly, and navigate everyday challenges.

That’s why I created Sail Creative Coaching, a supportive approach that uses art to help kids express what they’re feeling and learn practical skills they can use in real life.

Through guided creative activities, I help children grow in communication, emotional awareness, and confidence, so they can feel more capable at school, at home, and in social situations.

Through creative, low-pressure activities, I help children:

  • Express thoughts and emotions more naturally

  • Build communication skills in a way that feels safe

  • Navigate social and everyday situations with more confidence

  • Communicate in a way that actually works for them.

I’ve seen firsthand how art can help students regulate their emotions in a way that words alone often can’t. My approach is informed by my experience in special education.

More than anything, I aim to create a space where children feel safe to be themselves while building the confidence and skills they need to grow.

What is Creative Coaching?

Creative coaching is an arts-based approach that helps children build:

Social skills

Emotional awareness

Communication and confidence

Instead of relying on conversation alone, we use creativity: art, movement, and guided activities to help kids learn practical communication skills.

This approach is especially helpful for children who:

Struggle to communicate

Feel overwhelmed in traditional settings

Thrive through creativity and hands-on experiences

Creative Coaching may be a great fit if your child:

  • Struggles to express emotions or put thoughts into words

  • Shuts down, gets frustrated, or becomes overwhelmed easily

  • Is neurodivergent and needs a different kind of support

  • Has difficulty with transitions or flexibility

  • Feels anxious or unsure in social situations

  • Responds better to creativity, movement, and connection
